About Andy
Andy For Mayor!
Your Man in City Hall
Andy Horwitz is a cultural activist, writer, performer and blogger (since 2000). He writes regularly for Nerve.com and other outlets. He has created several successful solo shows in NYC, edits Culturebot.org, an alternative performance blog, and produces the WYSIWYG Talent Show, the first-ever all-blogger series of readings and performances.
He has been working at the intersection of culture and politics since the early 90’s when he lived in Seattle and became involved with protesting the first Gulf War and subsequently became active with the women’s self-defense collective Home Alive. Since moving to NYC he has engaged with local causes from LGBT issues to saving Engine 212 in Williamsburg.
You can find out more about Andy on his personal blog at www.andyschest.com.
Andy believes that government should be accessible to all and that politicians shouldn’t be such big phonies. This campaign is about closing the distance between citizens and the government and about having a darned good time.
